Transmission Genetics (classical genetics) - Transmission of genes from generation to generation and how genes recombine. 2. Molecular Genetics - Structure and functions of genes at the molecular level. 3. Population Genetics - Distribution of genes in populations. (in mathematical term)  Why is Genetics important to Society? Agriculture (genetically engineered plants, wheat resistant to rust) Livestock (different breeds, leaner beef, polled vs. horned cattle) A.
