We don't know each other well yet, so it's hard to pick who to work with. Some of us might feel more comfortable working with friends or people we know. We all have different preferences for group size and how we like to work. It's tricky to find a time when everyone can meet up for group meetings. We feel pressure to pick the right group that will help us do well in the class. Research suggests that people’s personalities change over their lives. Conscientiousness (organisation and discipline – good for working success!) tends to increase with age. Agreeableness (being warm, generous and helpful) tends to increase the most of all the traits with age. Neuroticism (being more anxious, fearful) – tends to be higher in younger females than males but this difference decreases with age. Openness slightly decreases over time – the tendency to form new connections decreases with more emphasis on spending time with a small group of well- known individuals. Reference: Weisberg, Y.
