PELONGO JR., RSW,EMSW Rationale - Building the knowledge base of social workers. - Use of law as a tool to protect and claim rights - The key here is having basic knowledge and understanding of relevant welfare laws and social policies as they apply to sectors, community contexts, and development needs of societies - Social workers, as advocates, can play an important role in changing the laws and policies of the country to uphold human rights, especially, to protect the rights of the poor, marginalized, excluded and disadvantaged.
