**DANCE TERMS** **Abrasete** Girl at the side, hold R arm of partner with her L hand, free hands down at the sides. **Arms in Lateral Pasition** Both arms at one side, either right or left; at should, chest, or waist level. **Arms in Reverse "T"** Arms are side horizontal, elbows bent at the right angles, forearms parallel to head, palms forward or facing inward, fists loosely closed. **Bilao** Turn palms of hands up and down alternately, hands a waist level in front, elbows close to waist. **Brush** Weight on the foot, hit the floor with the ball or heel of the other foot and lift that foot from the floor to any direction. **Clockwise** Like the motion of the hands of the clock, right shoulder is toward the center of an imaginary circle. When facing center, movement is toward the left. **Counter Clockwise** The reverse direction of clockwise, left shoulder toward center. Movements are toward right when facing center of circle. **Cut** Displace quickly one foot with other foot. **Hop** Spring and reverse the position of your feet, pointing the left (or right) foot in front and letting the right (or left) foot take the body's weight. Each change of foot position corresponds to one count. **Leap** Count 1: Step your right (or left) foot into the fourth position, raising your left (or right) foot in front of your right (or left).\ Count 2: Hop or spring on your right (or left) foot, either in place or in any direction. **Crossed Arms** Partners stand side by side, joining their left hands and right hands together; either with the right hand over the left or the left hand over the right. **Do-si-Do** Partners advance forward, passing each other's right (or left) side, then step across to the right (or left). Move backward without turning, passing each other's left (or right) side to return to your original positions. **Sarok** Cross your right foot in front of your left, bending your body slightly forward. Cross your hands down in front, with your right hand over your left. **Two Step** Count 1: Step your right foot into the fourth position in front.\ Count \"and\": Step your left foot close to your right foot in the third position rear, or in the first position.\ Count 2: Quickly step your right foot into the fourth position in the rear. **Mazurka** Count 1: Slide your right foot into the second position.\ Count 2: Cut to the side with your left foot, replacing the right.\ Count 3: Hop on your left foot, beating your right foot in front or behind, closing it to the ankle of your left foot.\ This sequence is performed with one foot consistently leading and can be executed in any direction **Polka** Count 1: Step your left foot into the fourth position in front.\ Count \"and\": Step your right foot close to your left foot in the third position rear.\ Count 2: Step your left foot into the fourth position in front **Sway Balance** Count 1, 2: Step your right foot diagonally forward to the right.\ Count 3: Step your left foot across in front of the right foot.\ Count 1, 2: Step your right foot diagonally backward to the right.\ Count 3: Close, point, brush, hop, raise, or waltz your left foot into the fourth or third position in front. **Close Step** Count 1: Step your right foot into the fourth position in front.\ Counts 2, 3: Close your left foot to your right foot in the third or first position at the rear.
