Work in hospitals, clinics, medical laboratories and private practice. NATURE OF WORK RT use their expertise and knowledge of patient handling, physics, anatomy, physiology and radiology to assess patients, develop optimal radiologist techniques or plans and evaluate resulting radiographic images. November 30, 1969 – first class of 13 students ( pioneers) majority were already employed and working x-ray technicians in different agencies 1. July 14, 1974 – first examination of Civil Service Commission that gives a qualification for x-ray technicians 1992 – the Radiologic Technology Act was signed into law by President Corazon Aquino thereby professionalizing Radiologic Technology 2001- the name RHS ( Radiation Health Services) was changed into Bureau of Health Devices and Technology BUREAU OF HEALTH DEVICES AND TECHNOLOGY ( BHDT) Agency of the DOH that has regulatory functions over radiation devices and radiation facilities here in the Philippines New official name – Center for Device Regulation, Radiation Health and Research ( CDRRHR) Regulates concerned groups such as manufacturers, distributors/ importers, wholesalers and retailers. SOCIETIES AND ASSOCIATIONS PGSRT, Inc.
