The assembly line revolutionized the world by increasing production efficiency and reducing costs. It allowed for the mass production of standardized products, such as automobiles and consumer goods, making them more affordable for the average person. The assembly line has played a significant role in the growth of industrial economies and entirely transformed the roles, work content and daily workflow of employees in the manufacturing industry. The computer has revolutionized the world by transforming how we live, work, and communicate. It has given us instant access to information, simplified complex tasks, and facilitated global connectivity. The computer has played a crucial role in the growth of modern economies, driving innovation and progress in countless industries. At the same time, it has entirely re-shaped the previous fabric of human civilization. Alexander Graham Bell built upon the telegraph and took it a great leap further. For the first time in human history, people could speak to each other in real-time over long distances. Aside from the way the telephone has transformed the way people conduct business, diplomacy, politics, and military operations,\ think about how differently people conduct their interpersonal relations because of the existence of the telephone. Email has revolutionized the way people communicate by enabling instant, low-cost transmission of messages across the globe. It has facilitated faster communication in both personal and professional contexts, allowing people to send messages, documents, and other types of information with ease. Email has also opened up new opportunities for businesses, making it possible to conduct transactions and connect with customers and partners all over the world. Computers have been around since the 1940s. But it wasn't till the personal computer was introduced that their benefits and risks became accessible to the masses. Personal computers have entirely revolutionized the world by allowing us to carry out tasks that were previously only possible for large organizations or governments. The personal computer has fundamentally transformed the way we work, learn, buy, sell and communicate. By extent, it has transformed every business model under the sun. Based on the previous data, we feel that the following takeaways are valuable to any leader: The speed at which disruptive innovations occur has been accelerating for millennia. A wise leader no longer expects that "the way we do something" NOW" will be "the way we do something" ten years from now. The early version of the innovations have little in common with today's versions. This applies equally to today's "cutting edge" technologies (e.g. AI, Industrial Robots, Internet of Things, Big Data analysis). What we're seeing right now are only the early "big, clunky versions" of what will come. Tomorrow's disruptive technologies have probably already been invented.
