Philippines: a travellers guide All there is to know about the Philippines! By Dylan T. Caringal Chocolate hills Chocolate hills One of the most tourist visits in Bicol, Chocolate hills is a tourist attraction known for its beautiful hills. It is very known by Bicolanos. Some say because the hills are made out of chocolate. Others say because the Bicolanos liked chocolate, so they named it that, Some say it is impossible to know. The reason is easy! It is because the grass covered hills don’t get enough water, so they change color. They stay like that until the wet seasons. Pretty cool, right? So… Why is it useful or important to Filipinos? It’s important because of it’s recognition of its scientific value and geomorphic uniqueness. Also, because of its many tourist visits. It contributes to our identity as Filipinos because it is a beautiful hill. Or maybe it contributes to the spicy-food loving Bicolanos because it looks like itmade out of spicy chocolate? These answers could not be correct. Do you have any other ideas? Mayon Volcano The Mayon volcano This is a tourist spot. It is known for it’s perfect cone and many eruptions (52 times in the past 500 years.) It is located in Albay and is very popular. A few ways to take care of the Mayon Volcano is… Refrain from Plant more littering trees around around Buying Telling people souvenirs and to refrain from admiring the littering place But… Why should we admire the Mayon Volcano? It is because… It’s very big! Very beautiful! Very amazing! Many people look and admire the Mayon Volcano. Now… how does it It could be because it has erupted many times. This is what made the contribute to Filipinos brave. This could not be correct. Do you our identity as have any other ideas? Filipinos? Taal Volcano What is it about? It is the smallest volcano in the country. It is still active up to this day. But it has erupted less than Mayon Volcano (38 times). It is in a small island surrounded by water. Tourists visit this island to take pictures and investigate the Taal Volcano.
