The plant gives a bushy appearance. Plants, having severe infection, fail to produce flower and fruits. The flowers commonly become phylloid. **Disease cycle:** The disease is commonly transmitted through grafting. In nature, the disease perennates by infecting a large number of alternate or collateral hosts such as, bitter gourd, water melon, menthi, sunhemp, beet, castor, soyabean, etc. **Control:** - Tetracycline therapy is effective.
