Fish bone remains found in the diet of ancient man  Fishing Tackle :Fishing tackle is a general term that refers to the physical equipment used by fishermen when fishing. Almost any equipment or gear used for fishing can be called fishing tackle. (= fishing gear, a term used in commercial fisheries).  Webbing (Netting): (woven stuff), Netting is defined as a meshed structure of indefinite shape and size composed of one or more yarns twisted or interlaced or joined. The knotted (or knotless) yarn fabric composed of uniform openings or meshes, exclusive ropes, floats & other accessories.  Mesh : one of the openings enclosed by the knotted (or knottless = joined) yarns forming the fabric of the net.  Fishing: is the art of catching wild fish & other aquatic organisms and starts when deploying the fishing gear in water and ends when it is retrieved from water either at shore or on deck of the fishing vessel. The time spent is called soaking time.  Fishing vessel: A fishing vessel is a boat or ship used to catch fish in the sea, or in a lake or river.  Fisheries: A term related to the whole process of catching and marketing fish and shellfish for sale. It refers to and includes fisheries resources, fishermen and related businesses. It’s a system composed of the fish resource, habitat and man utilizing this resource. Classification of Capture fisheries : I- A- Based on the type of water ( fresh – salt water) B- Location of fishing (inshore – midwater – deepwater). C- Resource type (salmon fishing – sponge – Tilapia – whaling).  D- Method of fishing (Seining – trawling – linning – harpooning).
