- Participates in the daily work activities, job duties and tasks of the Community Services Officers; provides information and assists the public with a variety of requests and inquiries. - Coordinates, plans and leads briefing meetings; monitors, assists and directs Community Services Officer staff in the field and office; provide guidance and support for staff regarding complicated incidents. - Coordinates and schedules special event assignments; activities with sworn personnel; and activities with other Department supervisors and City Departments. - Assists in the hiring, evaluation and training of assigned staff; resolves concerns dealing with personnel issues; manages and assists staff workload, breaks and meal periods; completes shift review with CSO staff; and provides input regarding evaluations, special assignments and transfers. - Reviews staff activity and statistical reports; other related reports (i.e. code enforcement and dog bite); completes and reviews daily worksheets, monthly productivity logs and shift reviews; and participates in budget preparation and maintains basic understanding of unit budget. - Ensures inspection of parking and animal control vehicles and equipment for safety, cleanliness and maintenance. - Attends staff meetings, City Council meetings, PPIC meetings and other meetings as assigned or directed; and represents unit and/or Department at community meetings. - Provides support and feedback to Community Services Officers and management staff. - Maintains and coordinates supplies.
