BOCA RATON POLICE SERVICES DEPARTMENT Standard Operating Procedure 41.32 COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY (CRA) ZONE Revised: new I. PURPOSE: The purpose of this standard operating procedure is to establish guidelines for the allocation of law enforcement officers to the Community Redevelopment Agency zone. II. DEFINITIONS: Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Zone: A designated area within the City which has been set aside for redevelopment. Businesses and residents in this zone are assigned law enforcement officers (LEOs) specifically budgeted to patrol the zone. III. PROCEDURE: A. Each watch commander shall assign LEO(s) to work in the CRA zone consistently for a 6month rotation. B. Watch commanders shall also designate cover LEOs to relieve the designated CRA zone LEO when he/she takes leave or attends training. C. The CRA zone LEO shall not be assigned calls outside of the CRA zone unless there is an in-progress call and no other units are available. D. In the event the CRA zone LEO must respond to calls outside his/her designated zone: 1. zone. The CRA zone LEO shall be relieved as soon as possible and return to the CRA 2. The CRA zone LEO should not end up as the primary LEO on any call outside of the CRA zone. E. The CRA zone LEO may respond as a backup to any call, if one is needed, and there are no other units available. 1. Effective: April 13, 2021 Revised: The CRA zone LEO shall return to the CRA zone as soon as another LEO is available. Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Zone SOP No. 41.32 Page 1 of 2 F. The CRA zone LEO shall not be used as a transport to County Jail, unless he/she is transporting an arrestee from an incident that occurred within the CRA zone.
