A principle of Judaism **Perpetrator** - person who carries out a harmful, illegal or immoral act eg the Nazis **Schutzstaffel (SS)** - major paramilitary organisation by the Nazis who ran the labour and death camps. **Gestapo** - secret police of Nazi Germany who used violence and torture to interrogate **Bystander** - person who is present at an event/incident but does not part take eg non jewish europeans **Collaborator** - a person who works jointly eg **Ghetto** - jewish quarter in which jews were forced to live **Judenrat** - council of Jews following Nazi orders in Nazi occupied areas eg Rumkowski **Einsatzgruppen** - SS who were tasked with committing mass murdersx **The Wannsee Conference** - conference in Nazi Germany where they decided on the Final Solution **Final Solution** - the decision that the best way to exterminate the Jews was through gas chambers **Concentration camp** - jews were imprisoned and endured harsh living conditions, forced labour, and await their execution. **Partisans** - form of Jewish resistance, hid in the forest and attacked Nazis **Warsaw ghetto uprising** - uprising by Jews revolting against German occupation in Europe. After the decision of the Final Solution, Jews in the ghetto didn't want to get deported to concentration camps, so they initiated an uprising.
