Job Description - General Manager – Operation POSITION PROFILE: General Manager - Position Title: Location: TBD Operation Indicative Band: L4-M1 Function: Microfinance Reports to: State Business Head Team Size: TBD POSITION SUMMARY: The General Manager (GM) is responsible for Strategy related to penetration and ensuring effective day- to-day management of operations of his/her assigned Region. The GM is responsible for growth and profitability of the region as per the quality standards of the organization. He/she is particularly responsible for recruitment, training and development of Divisional Managers, Unit Managers, Branch Managers, Sangam Managers, and area support staff ensuring that they contribute effectively to the organization and become effective leaders in the organization. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Member Services Management (Microfinance): Process Management: Ensuring adherence to policies and processes, correcting procedural flaws; ensure proper documentation; support Divisional, Unit and Branch Managers in troubleshooting field problems and identifying, designing, and suggesting process improvements; along with the ultimate responsibility for compliance with internal audit recommendations. Portfolio Quality: Ensuring that all assigned Units and Branches have 100% repayments, good centre discipline and high attendance levels that meet BFIL standards. Identify and analyse risks (economic, social, political, etc.) related to broader loan portfolio; ensure portfolio diversification and quality across activities in the Region. Productivity / Profitability: Monitoring profitability and performance of assigned Areas, Units and Branches using various productivity, efficiency, and financial parameters as per the business plan. Guide Divisional, Unit and Branch managers towards achieving optimal standards in all parameters and ensure that their target goals in terms of Member acquisition, Portfolio outstanding are met. Customer Satisfaction: Ensuring high level of customer satisfaction through high service quality. Coach Divisional, Unit and Branch Managers in analysing reasons behind customer dissatisfaction and take necessary corrective steps. Operations Management Ensuring that Region, Area, Unit and Branch offices have proper functional support. Ensuring effective utilization of operational resources. Supporting team in coordinating with Head Office functional representatives Submitting all the required reports accurately and on time People Management Recruiting, managing, developing, and coaching Divisional Managers, Unit Managers, Branch Managers and Sangam Managers for assigned Area. Help direct reportees to effectively recruit, manage, develop, and coach their teams to achieve all growth, quality, and branding goals. Ensure fair and consistent HR practices at all levels in the assigned Region. Assisting in developing, refining, and delivering training for Divisional Managers, Unit Managers and lower levels as needed. Acting as a Role Model for effective communication, seeking feedback and other soft skills and regularly coach the Divisional Managers, Unit Managers and Regional support staff on these and other skills as needed. Conducting performance appraisal, analysing training needs, developing, and delivering training program to all the staff at the Region level. Other Responsibilities External Communications and Relations - Representing BFIL as the chief spokesperson for the organization at the regional level. Supporting Divisional, Unit and Branch Managers in representing BFIL at the Area, Unit and Branch Level, including visitor management and maintaining relationships with external parties and stakeholders (Banks, Police, Local Leader, etc.). Growth and Business Development- New branch identification: Identification of potential areas for expanding operations. Design and administer surveys in the new branch areas and prepare a business plan for the new branch and area, based on these surveys.
