GEN 001: Purposive Communication The Communication Process, Principles, and Ethics Learning Targets: Define communication; Explain the nature and processes of communication; Practice openness, transparency, and sensitivity in all interactions consistently to enhance ethical communication skills. Communication The English word 'communication' has been derived from the Latin word, 'Communicare' which means to impart or participate or to transmit. Communication is simply the act of sending information from one person or group to another. The exchange of communication varies from person to person depending on the needs of the situation. Communication involves not only verbal exchanges but also non-verbal cues such as facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice.
