Evolution of Organizational Development Kurt Lewin(1898 1947) – pinpointed group dynamics 1950’ s – The term Organizational development was first used in the 1950’ s by Douglas McGregor and Richard Beckhard. 1945 – Rensis Likert begans using surveys as a foundation for change in OD. Second Generation of OD Contributors -Warren Bennis, Edgar Schein, and Richard Beckhard. Third Generation of OD Contributors - Warner Burke, Larry Greiner, Edward Lawler III, Newton Marguiles, and Antony Raia Fourth Generation of OD Contributors - Dave Brown, Thomas Cummings, Max Elden, and Jerry Porras.
