This section of the paper provides; Screenshots, explanation/context, and a timeline at hand from the perspective of Venice Ereso and Therese Ejertima. Wednesday, September 18, 2024 Venice Ereso and Therese Ejertima raised a concern to the OSAS/SOSA which is Vote buying. According to the PRESIDENTIAL ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION, the definition of Vote buying is: “Any person; 1. Who gives, offers or promises money or anything of value, gives or promises any office or employment, franchise or grant, public or private, or makes or offers to make an expenditure, directly or indirectly, or cause an expenditure to be made to any person, association, corporation, entity, or community; and 2. The purpose of which is to induce anyone or the public, in general, to vote for or against any candidate (or withhold his vote in the election for yote for or against any aspirant for the nomination or choice of a candidate in a convention or similar process of a political party. “ (Source:https://pacc.gov.ph/your-presidential-anti-corruption-commission-would-like-to-remind- everyone-that-under-batas-pambansa-blg-881-section-261a-vote-buying-and-vote-selling-are-pro hibited-acts-they-are-defined-as-fol/)) Thursday, September 19, 2024 Venice Ereso and Therese Ejertima have already reported the situation to the head of the COMELEC and now, our advisor has sent a warning/Mock, Although unnamed, it is clear that this message is directed to both students (Venice Ereso and Therese Ejertima) due to how the message is worded. Venice and Therese are very aware of what they have done and are very guilty of what they did but, in terms of professionality this does not suffice on his behaviour due to him being our Advisor/Educator and that is not how one would react accordingly. To the point, he goes out of his way to note it on his Instagram account. “Personally (Venice Ereso) I felt distraught and miserable, it happened all of a sudden and I did not know how to react due to me thinking that I was just doing my Job as a COMELEC.” Thursday, September 20, 2024 *This screenshot does not have any correlation to the situation I just added it for consistency in the timeline. Saturday, September 21, 2024 This is the climax of the situation, the sum of the text summarises that Sir Rovillos got sectioned dropped in the Faculty GC and got embarrassed. At that point, he was ranting about how “irresponsible and unprofessional” we are as COMELEC representatives. As you can see Therese replied in one of the screenshots but was left unnoticed as for Me(Venice) only “Seen” the GC till the end for reasons I will expound on it in the response section of this document to have more in-depth reasoning and understand why I did not respond in the Class Group Chat. Furthermore I recognise/understand his frustration due to us lacking in our part of our job. Responses and Reasons Professionalism. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the term professional is the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person. In this section of the document, it will serve as an indirect(By Venice Ereso) response to; Specific screenshots, replies, etc. (1)Response to the rant of sir Rain. *The other screenshots can be seen in the previous section. To address the subject at hand I, Venice Ereso chose not to respond to the rant of sir rain in the topic of being “irresponsible and unprofessional” To be frank, I admit I was going to announce on Saturday, September 21, 2024 that it was election day yet I did not due to how I felt unsafe in the GC. I thought to myself “The OSAS posted in the Google Classroom that today is the day of the elections so, I will assume that my classmates have seen it” Clearly I was wrong due to how the situation escalated exponentially. With that in mind, My drafted response was about apologizing to the whole class and to the advisor for not doing my part but the problem with said response is that it was driven by emotions and was not appropriate for the situation so I just “Seen” the GC and said nothing. For my good and to not escalate the situation even further. (2)Response to DM. (Context: This is from Therese Ejertima’s POV( Point of view) the Class representative of our class responded to her notes. “Bad word NOPE MAS MATANDA KAYO TAS GANYAN KAYO” is not verbatim to the original response. I brought this up because first it is relevant to the situation and second I am responding on behalf of Therese Ejertima which she approved.) In a indirect response to this message, I will dissect it bit by bit, due to how many layers this statement has. Firstly taking the initiative, Me and Rese understand that it is our fault for not taking the initiative of announcing that on the day of September 22, 2024, was the day of elections in the GC. Yes, we take the blame for that due to us being the COMELEC. But, there is a reason why I[Personal pronouns due to this being my decision and this does not have anything to do with Therese Ejertima.] did not announce in the class GC(Adding to my last statement regarding why I chose not to post). First, The advisor already announced early in the morning, although as Comelec we should have announced it first. Second, The elections/voting was posted in SOSA/OSAS Google Classroom for every student to see [This statement refers to every student who is acquired to enroll in said Google Classroom]. But I was mistaken in terms of not every classmate/student have see said OSAS post. "...Yes, they're busy because they're athletes but did you at least try your best to connect with them? To remind them? Kahit na hindi sila mag reply if you tried your best to remind at least you know you did something on your part since it is your job..." First of all, yes it is our job to remind them. We admit[Me and Therese Ejertima] that it is our fault for not reminding the class [This is about not announcing to the class GC on September 22, 2024, that is was election day.] But, the athletes should also take the initiative to vote, to exercise there suffrage. So, why is it a part of our job to "connect" with them?[For clarification on this statement, I am not disregarding Our job, I am emphasising on the fact students should also take the initiative to exercise there right of suffrage.) Concerns and excess screenshots This section of the document will explain the concern of the matter and excess screenshots to “solidify” their concern but will not be 100% plausible or relevant to the situation. Additionally, this is where Therese and Venice will vent out their perspective on the situation so this might not come as professional compared to the other sections of this article. Venice Ereso “For the past few days, I(Venice Ereso) have been feeling overwhelmed by the whole situation from the “snitching” allegation to the “unproffesional”. To be frank, the matter at hand deteriorated my whole mental health to the point it made me cut myself again , I have been 9 months sober from trying to hurt myself yet this whole situation brought me to the point of trying to harm myself once more, although yes its a few shallow cuts, stress eating and a few light burns but how extreme does one have to hurt oneself to notice that this whole scene has blown out into proportions. The day before and after we reported to Sir Ian about the whole “Vote Buying” situation I had a brief talk with Sir Ian on the topic of Sir Rovillos throwing shade at Me and Rese stating that we are snitches for leaking the group GC, he told me that in his perspective that I and rese did not do anything wrong and we were just doing our job as COMELEC and we were not violating any rules because we arent Bias(Not verbatim this is how I interpreted on what he said). Throughout the situation, I fully acknowledge that Sir Rovillos is human and has his faults but in my perspective, he does not acknowledge his inappropriate behaviour with his advisee. Yes, I know he wants the class to have a safe space(The class GC). Yes, to my knowledge, this is not his Work/Professional personality and it may/will differ depending on who he is talking to/with but his whole response to the situation has blown out of proportion that it affected both mine and Therese’s mental health. I admit I was wrong in not announcing to the GC about the elections and not taking care of it in the long run(meaning I did not tally which students have not voted) but that does not excuse Sir Rovillos' treatment towards me and Therese. Additionally, If possible Me and Therese want to transfer to another section, specifically G12-Optimism because of the underlying feeling of being in an unsafe environment in my current section that, might hinder my academic performance now, and in the future. ” Therese Ejertima In response to the whole situation, I am merely surprised and concerned about how the situation has escalated. The initial situation of “snitching” was just to mention and to point out the behaviour of the candidates for the elections, Sir Calomo relayed the information to Sir Rovillos and the situation escalated from there. Although no names were said, it is obvious that me and Venice were the ones targeted by these messages. And as for the elections, I will admit and be responsible for my faults, I had lacked in my duty and will stand by that. But I am as disappointed as Sir Rovillos. He had been disappointed with our (Venice and I) lack of responsibility and I am disappointed at his behaviour and his students. I am not as hurt as Venice, but that does not mean I am not bothered by this, I am still perturbed by this situation. I do not harbour strong feelings but rather, disappointment and surprise at how quickly things escalated, I understand where Sir Rovillos is coming from and that he has his reasons and feelings that may be the reason behind all of this. Ultimately, I am uncomfortable with everything that has happened and feel unsafe in 12-Innovation, both on the account of the teacher and his students, then again; no strong feelings, just disappointment. I have sent an email to Sir Calomo about this situation and Venice and I’s desire to possibly switch to another section, specifically section Optimism. I wish to not ruin his career but to merely clear out the situation. Conclusion In this whole section of the article, it will feature the ending statement of the article. Venice Ereso and Therese Ejertima are not trying to blame their faults on anyone but to address the situation at hand. This whole outcome could've been avoided if approached differently. Nonetheless, it already happened and can not be revoked. In the hope of Venice Ereso and Therese Ejertima, this whole situation will be cleared up and not to be Mendel with in the future unless it is needed for future references. After this whole situation has been handle Venice Ereso and Therese Ejertima will solemnly swear not to; Bad talk anyone involved in this situation; talk about this said situation to anyone/spread this to anyone, and lastly to the point not even interacting to the people involved in this situation unless needed for school curricular ONLY.
