C.E's Circular No. 278 (P.Way) ## Sub: - Measurement of Track Parameters on yard lines. At all station yards, the maintenance of running and non-running lines are equally important for safe train operation. As already conveyed vide HQ letter no. 219-W/Maintenance/TP/19-20, dated 03.09.19, 17.09.19, it is mandatory:- * "To record the track parameters viz gauge, cross level, versine, twist at every 5th sleeper of the entire yard including track/turnouts on main line/other than main line, turn in curves etc once in 3 months on A, B, C, Dspl, D routes and once in 6 months on E routes" Separate register should be made for each yard and compliance/action taken on any abnormality if noticed during inspection should be ensured timely and shall be duly recorded in register by sectional JE/SSE. ADENs shall identify the weak locations of their jurisdiction and shall carry out test check @ 10% of all yards (Should cover weak locations). DEN/Sr. DEN will scrutinize the registers and shall send the report to HQtrs quarterly. Apart from above, for long term planning divisions shall procure advance instruments (Track Master, laser equipment) to improve the quality of measurement along with speedy measurement. The measurement record of track parameters with action taken report to be kept ready at all time with SSE/P.Way in-charge and shown to higher officers during their inspection as and when asked. ## (Ashish Bansal) ## Chief Track Engineer
