MODULE PROFILE Programme Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education Module Title & Code Assessment of Young Children (BEE3204) Credit Points 14 NCQF level 7 Pre requisite None Module Synopsis This module enables trainees to acquire knowledge, skills and competences to assess and evaluate children in different situations using ECD oriented assessment and evaluation techniques. It also enables trainees to use assessment and evaluation results to design appropriate ECD learning programmes for ECD children in different contexts. Module Objectives The objectives of this module are to: 1. Enable teacher trainees to describe assessment and apply different assessment techniques to in assessment of ECE learners. 2. Develop teacher trainees to relate measurement and evaluation with assessment of ECE learners. 3. Evaluate different programmes designed for ECD children 4. Use assessment and evaluation results to develop learning programmes and materials for ECD children Module Learning Outcome Content/Topics 1.
