Why are you interested in this program? a. I am interested in the program because of the many opportunities it has to offer. I want to be able to gain valuable knowledge in an industry new to me, while being in a learning-friendly environment where I will be able to develop my technical skills and build a strong and supportive community. The program will give me the opportunity to meet like minded individuals that want to build foundational knowledge to become future industry leaders b. I just graduated with a degree in Business Analytics & Information Technology and while searching for full-time opportunities that I felt would best suit me and my interests I came across AT&T’s TDP and I immediately knew it would be the perfect opportunity for me to explore a more technical role in a business facing position as being able to combine the use of technical skills with the business acumen and insights is exactly what I had been looking for in a full-time post graduate opportunity so this felt like a match made in heaven for me c. I am interested in AT&T’s TDP because it offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a new industry within a supportive, learning-focused environment where I can develop my technical skills, gain real-world hands-on experience, and connect with like-minded individuals. I have a very collaborative work style and I feel I would thrive working closely with others in this program using our shared experiences and different perspectives to deliver the best results. Having recently graduated with a degree in Business Analytics & Information Technology, I have been searching for a full-time role that successfully combines technical skills with business insights. So you can just imagine my pure joy and delight when I came across this program, it felt like the perfect match, as it would allow me to build foundational knowledge, develop alongside future industry leaders, and explore a more technical role in a business-facing position. i. I thrive in environments where I can learn from experienced professionals while also offering my own creative problem-solving abilities. I'm confident that my enthusiasm, adaptability, and desire to learn and grow would make me a great fit for this dynamic, supportive program at AT&T. 2. Why are you interested in AT&T? a. I am drawn to AT&T because of the incredible possibilities for growth and development. For me, “growth” goes beyond just career advancement. To be in a program where I can gain hands-on experience and learn what it takes to be a technical business manager in real time, is a great opportunity for me. AT&T puts strong emphasis on building stronger networks- and not just in the telecommunications aspect but in the way of making lifelong relationships to collaborate with and to grow with in my career. I want to use the insights and knowledge gained from these relationships to be a better asset to the teams I’ll work with and in delivering meaningful results while driving initiatives forward 3. What do you like about AT&T? a. I love that AT&T is known for their reliability and their customer satisfaction. I know they are ranked #1 in regards to fastest internet with reliable speeds as well as #1 in customer satisfaction. They are reliable, trustworthy, and for the people. These are all values I strive to express in everything that I do. I want others to know they can rely on me, they can trust me, and trust that they will be satisfied after working with me. These are values that I would love to bring to AT&T in my own way. 4. What skills can you bring? a. I bring a blend of leadership experience, teamwork skills, and a positive, growth-oriented mindset. I would also bring technical skills in the form of technical communication, as I have experience working with many different demographics in different environments so I am familiar with how to explain complex information in ways that can be understood by individuals with almost no subject matter knowledge. Additionally, I would love to bring my analytical skills that I could use to interpret data and gather insights. Additionally, my data analysis and visualization skills allow me to put these skills together and visualize my findings to present to individuals and assist them in better understanding. And my positive attitude and fun spirit wrap these skills like a bow to be a gift of hard work and passion that I am bringing to the table or putting under the AT&T christmas tree. b. I know that individuals who succeed in this program bring a strong mix of leadership, collaboration skills, and a growth mindset- qualities I have shaped through my various experiences.Along with these, I would contribute strong technical communication skills developed by my work with diverse groups in different environments, allowing me to to communicate complex ideas ti be clear and accessible to people of all backgrounds. My analytical skills also allow me to interpret data, gather meaningful insights, and visualize these findings to back up informed decisions or observations. Also, I bring a fun-loving and energetic approach that wraps all these skills into a true asset, one that I am excited to contribute to the AT&T team. i. Desired skills for this role include understanding of Agile, Scrum and DevOps processes, strong leadership skills in a technology-focused environment, ability to translate technical details into common terms as well as experience preparing oral, written, and visual communications and highly matured analysis skills in a business and/or technology context. ii. I know in this program individuals that are successful possess these skills 5. What are they looking for? a. bringing a breadth of experience with leadership, innovation, business, technology, project and product management, and software development/design to drive initiatives forward 6. What are some trends in technology you see in the coming 6-12 months? a. Well. Gen AI has been especially popular the last two years and has come to grow immensely in that time. So I think there will definitely continue to be huge improvements in gen AI moving forward, specifically with this being the third year since its birth. I feel companies are going to try to use gen AI to bring more autonomy to the lives of others. Specifically in the telecommunications industry, I know companies are now looking to make automated assistants more sophisticated, so rather than asking your AI assistants to just set a timer or do a simple math problem, gen AI could become more involved in planning vacations or assisting in managing finances (could even talk about gen AI tutors or how gen AI can assist in doing research). I know AI assistants are already being created to assist in data retrieval processes making it possible for individuals other than data scientists or programmers to extract insights from data without knowing how to write SQL queries. So in a similar fashion, AI can be expected to be a more hands on companion in your life allowing it to complete your tasks with minimal guidance from you. i. The cool thing about AI is it is complementary, people are afraid of AI taking jobs bit it is actually just complementary. ii. AI doesn’t substitute for workers, but it complements the work that folks do so that firms can get ahead competitively. Some technologies that AT&T has been developing: Ask AT&T ○ A genAI platform that employees can use to summarize phone calls, write code, and execute database insights to better serve customers ○ Cranking out about a billion tokens (or words) per day at AT&T These range from: automated summaries of outgoing customer calls which can take from 30 seconds to several minutes to complete Or suggestions to customers about relevant products Or lines of code ○ What’s really cool about Ask AT&T is that its Ask Data feature allows approved users to ask questions in normal language and it gets translated into SQL queries to extract actionable insights from data, making it possible for people other than Data Scientists or programmers to extract information from data What can be expected to come next? ○ It’s exciting to think how it will become even more useful as we strive to move from “Ask Data” to “Explain Data” (automatically building models to explain what is going on e.g. with sales, churn, fraud), and then “Act on Data”. Another talking point: Potential advancements in AI or phone technology ○ Automated assistants becoming more sophisticated Doing more advanced tasks than doing math or setting a timer ○ Using GenAI to be able to detect fraud or scams ○ Retrieval Augmented Generation (or RAG) that improve accuracy by focusing the GenAI technology on trusted sources of truth used to generate the response to your question Follow up questions: 1. Are there any specific skills or experiences you think I could expand on to better meet the needs of the team? a. I read the job description and I want to be a successful person in this program, I’m curious to know from your perspective, what are the behaviors and actions of the most successful people in this program? i. After their answer:Okay thank you so much! I feel very confident I can do x,y,z things and be successful contributor to the program as well as AT&T 2. What are the next steps in the hiring process and is there anything more that I can provide to help with your decision making? 3. Can you explain the logistics of the program to me? I know this would be under the Technology Development Program but I understand there are multiple tracks within the program, would I be under the Technical Business Management track the entire program or is there opportunity to explore other tracks? 4. Can you describe someone you loved managing and what was it about them that made them so great? AI doesn’t substitute for workers, but it complements the work that folks do so that firms can get ahead competitively. all of these things would make me a great contributor at AT&T Great opportunity to learn more while also being a great contributor this is where i'm at but im not afraid to learn more I know that everything everyone does AT&T contributes greatly to their success HOW CAN I HELP YOU
