**Philippines** **SI MABUTI by: Genoveva Edroza-Matute** **Summary of the story** -about the life of a teacher named Mabuti and how she handles the problem as a teacher and mother to her child. How can Mabuti handle her problems as mother to her child and teacher to her students. She wanted to show her students her positive side despite suffering which brought the father of her child. The conflict is with a person versus herself because the main character is hiding her emotions towards the circumstances. **The point of view used in the story** was First Person **Narrator of the story** was The Student "Fe" **TATA SELO by: Rogelio Sikat** **Summary of the story** - life of an old farmer who needed to sell his farmland to a Kabesa (captain) because of his sick wife. Time passed by and Kabesang Tano decided to end Tata Selo's connection to the land by having new farmers who are way younger than him. Tata Selo begged the Kabesa, but he showed no mercy and used his cane to hit the old man. The old man wielded his "itak" to the Kabesa which resulted for him to die. Everything was taken from him, his wife, his land, his daughter Silang, his freedom, his dignity, and the humane treatment that he deserved. **MORNING IN NAGREBCAN by: Manuel E Arguilla** **Summary of the story** - It was sunrise at Nagrebcan. The fine, bluish mist, low over the tobacco fields. A boy named Baldo got out of their house to play with their dog\'s puppies. The four puppies were all white like the mother. He\'s soon joined by his younger brother Ambo. Ambo had his hand bit by the puppy they were fighting over. His hand started bleeding. Hearing the commotion outside the house, the boy's father, Tang Ciaco looked out the window. He saw Ambo\'s bleeding hand and declared that the puppy has gone mad. He grabbed a piece of firewood, started violently beating the puppy. He then turned his attention on his sons and started beating them as well.
