Warning Harriman High School 2. Detention-30 minutes The following materials must be brought to class each day 3. Detention-1 hour 4. Visit Mr. Clark 5. Pencil ONLY 6. Paper 7. Calculator ( a small scientific calculator that you know how to operate) 8. Small notebook for “Problems of the Day”. Grading 1. Chapter Test will count 45% 2. Quizzes will count 35% 3. Assignments which include classwork and any homework will count 20%. Assignments are graded on the effort made to complete the work as well as correctness. Work must be shown on all problems to back up your answer in order to get credit. Remember neatness counts. Classroom Conduct 1. Bottled water only in the classroom. This could be taken away if problems arise. 2. Teacher desk is off limits to students. 3. Students will NOT operate the air conditioner, lights, blinds, windows, or teacher computer stations. 4. Students will be in their seats when the tardy bell rings or will be counted tardy. 5. Students will stay in their seats until the bell rings to end class. There will be NO lining up at the door to leave before the end bell rings. 6. Students will NOT talk while the teacher is talking. 7. All school rules will be followed at all times. Important Information 1. Students are responsible for work missed due to excused absences. Students will have the same number of days absent to complete the missed work. 2. Students must bring an absentee slip to class when the class is missed. 3. Missing class the day before a scheduled class test will not excuse the student from the test if the test was announced when the student was in class. 4. Cheating = 0 Substitute Policy 1. Students will respect the substitute 2. Students will follow directions given by the substitute 3. If a substitute teacher leaves a student name in a negative way (teacher will decide) then the students will receive a minimum of 1 hour detention no questions ask. To Whom It May Concern: I am highly recommending that each student purchase their own scientific calculator for math class this year. There will be times that your student will have homework and a calculator will be necessary. A few good inexpensive scientific calculators are the TI-30IIS, CASIO fx-300ES plus, CASIO fx-260, etc. Wal-Mart carries all of the mentioned calculators. Your student has seen in class what they need for math class. I have a few calculators that can be checked out for the school year in the event that your student is unable to purchase one of their own. Please send a note with your student letting me know of the need to check them out a calculator for the school year. When a student checks out a calculator for the school year they are agreeing to turning it back in at the end of the school year in the condition they received it and if it is lost they must replace it.
