INTRODUCTION The main objective of QUICK REFERENCE HANDBOOK is to provide a quick reference for the crew on board, of all the basic information required by them in day-to-day operations and also during an emergency. The QRH contains procedures that may be required in every day operations or during an emergency in a checklist format, thereby ensuring that the crew does not miss out any critical step during any procedural application. Cabin Crew are primarily responsible for passenger safety and play a vital role in handling Cabin Emergencies This aspect should remain the prime focus during the entire flying career of any Cabin Crew. The “Quick Reference Hand Book“ has been compiled as per the guide lines laid down in CAR Section 7, Series M , Part I , Issue III Dated 01st January 2016 and enables the Cabin Crew to conduct safe Normal and Emergency cabin operations in accordance with the standards and recommended practices as stipulated in the applicable CARs. For any Cabin Crew to develop competency in their field, it is imperative not only to acquire the knowledge and skills but also to keep updating them. This can only be accomplished by constant revision and practice during Recurrent Training. The Cabin Crew shall master the skills for dealing with any Emergencies since precious human lives depend on them. Cabin Crew are reminded that this Hand Book is not a substitute for the main technical Manuals. All the Crew are required to study this Hand Book before every flight and also to revise the main Technical Manuals and other relevant Documents regularly. LAV FIRE FIGHTING Lavatory smoke/fires can be caused by electrical system malfunctions for example, the water heater, toilet vacuum, or may be caused by burning materials usually caused by a carelessly discarded cigarette in the lavatory waste bin.
