Sexual Self The Sexual Self The Sexual Self is the part of you that helps you learn and understand how you grow and change sexually. The sexual self is a multifaceted concept that integrates biological, psychological, and social dimensions of sexuality. It involves how individuals perceive and express their sexual identity, preferences, and behaviors. Your Sexual Self also includes your sexual health, who you are attracted to, your gender identity, and your values about sexuality. Formation of Sexual Identity: Sexual identity and understanding begin to form early in childhood, influenced by a combination of innate biological factors and external environmental factors. This development continues through adolescence, where individuals start to explore and define their sexual preferences and identities, and into adulthood, where these aspects of the self become more solidified.
