California Administrative Code, Title 22, Division 9, Chapter 2 Effective: 11/15/83 TREATMENT A. ABCs – Assessment and treatment. B. Remove cold wet clothes. Re-warm with warm blanket or sheet, and warm ambulance. C. Check pulse – rate and regularity. May need to check pulse for up to 1 minute. D. Treat shock as with hypovolemia. E. If in cardiac arrest, perform CPR, even if they have been in arrest for a long time. CPR should be performed until the patient can be warmed in the hospital and then reevaluated. F.
