PERSONNEL POLICY 12/23/2020 12/23/2020 412-5 SUBJECT AMENDS Policy Series 400: Compensation 412 – Uniform Maintenance/Clothing Allowance REFERENCE RESCINDS 84.510 RSMo Policy 412-4 PI Uniform and Personal Appearance Regulations *I. INTRODUCTION The Department will provide sworn members with a uniform maintenance/clothing allowance (allowance) as authorized in Section 84.510 RSMo and outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). II. POLICY A. All sworn members are eligible for an allowance. B. Sworn members will wear the police uniform or appropriate business attire during duty hours, in compliance with the current directive entitled, “Uniform and Personal Appearance Regulations”. C. The allowance is paid biweekly and will not be paid while the sworn member is assigned to the sick leave pool, the injury leave pool, or the family and medical leave pool. III. PROCEDURE A. Eligible - If a sworn member has a change in status, effective other than the beginning of the pay period, the allowance will be effective retroactive to the beginning of the pay period. B. Ineligible – If a sworn member has a change in status making them ineligible for the uniform maintenance/clothing allowance, effective other than the beginning of the pay period, the allowance will be effective until the end of the pay period.
