Policy 412: Uniform Maintenance/Clothing Allowance
Introduction
- The Kansas City, MO Police Department provides a uniform maintenance/clothing allowance to sworn members as authorized in Section 84.510 RSMo and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Eligibility
- All sworn members are eligible for the uniform maintenance/clothing allowance.
Policy
- Sworn members must wear the police uniform or appropriate business attire during duty hours, in compliance with the "Uniform and Personal Appearance Regulations" directive.
- The allowance is paid biweekly.
Exclusions
- The allowance will not be paid while the sworn member is assigned to:
- Sick leave pool
- Injury leave pool
- Family and medical leave pool
Procedure
- If a sworn member's status changes, effective other than the beginning of the pay period, the allowance will be effective retroactive to the beginning of the pay period.
- If a sworn member's status changes, making them ineligible for the allowance, effective other than the beginning of the pay period, the allowance will be effective until the end of the pay period.
