Active Creation** **Lesson 1: Recreational Activities** **[Recreation ]** - Activities done during free time which gives enjoyment and satisfaction - Choosing recreational activities should be of your interest and should be voluntary - Involves physical activity such as exercise, sports, household chores and walking that gives fitness benefits **[Active and Passive Recreation]** **[Active Recreation]** - A type of recreation where there is more energy consumption - Requires burning fats turn into energy **[Passive Recreation]** - Recreational activities where there is less energy consumption - Do not need to exert effort and energy **[Indoor and Outdoor Activities]** - Recreation is considered as indoor when the activity is within the premises of your comfort zone at home or inside a building. - Recreation is outdoor when the activity is undertaken in a natural rural or open space outside confines of buildings, usually large land area close to nature **Lesson 2: Lifestyle Change** **[Lifestyle]** - Way of life and individual live in an everyday basis - Pattern of behavior on how individual typically live - Participation in active recreation influence healthy lifestyle **[Lifestyle Change]** - Best way of preventing illness and early death due to infectious diseases to chronic lifestyle conditions such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes - The HELP philosophy is the guide in stating a lifestyle changes - Health- healthier behavior - Everyone- health is for all - Lifetime - Personal - Involves healthy diet and balancing the food you take to lose or gain weight as what a person need **Lesson 3: Indoor and Outdoor Recreational Activities** A. **Indoor Recreational Activities** **1. Volleyball** - Played in best of three games - A game shall be won by a team scoring 25points first, in case of tied 25-25 score; there is deuce. A set/game must be won by 2 points advantage. **A. Basic Rules** At the start of the match, a coin is toss to decide which team will serve first and which side of the net will initially defend. **1. Service** **2. General Play** - A team will earn point when the ball fell inside the court on the other side after hitting it. - The ball is declared out of play if it fails to cross the net or lands out of the court or hits the ceiling of the venues. **A violation is called if:** - Player touches the top of the net while in play. - A player hits the ball 2 times consecutively, except when blocking, and provided the contacts take place simultaneously. - Player catches the ball. - Ball hits the antennae - A player reaches over the net. - Lifting the ball - 4 hits **Other Rules** - The ball that lands on the line is in. - A violation is called if a player serves and misses the ball while serving. - The server steps on the service line. **B.
