Refer to the following: “The essentially person-centred nature of nursing and midwifery is evident from the fact that the central focus of the definition of each discipline is on the patient as the recipient of care….this care includes the physical, mental and emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of the person” (Hall, Glew & Rhodes, 2022, p. 5). The term ‘person-centred care’ describes this focus. “In midwifery, the person being cared for is referred to as a ‘woman,’ so person-centred care in this context is called woman-centred care; not forgetting that a woman-centred midwifery approach does not separate the needs of the mother and baby, considering them as a dyad” (Hall, Glew & Rhodes, 2022, p. 5). Discuss: How is person/woman-centred care a key dimension of safe, quality healthcare care? (See vUWS) https://youtu.be/I8Y962VTiBY?t=8 tod a y https://steemit.com/life/@emma24/what-i-learned-today Do you have any questions? Post Tutorial Reflect: How can nurses and midwives provide person/woman-centred care as a key dimension of safe, quality healthcare care? Review: References and Resources in vUWS for this subject References Hall, H., Glew, P. J., & Rhodes, J. (Eds.). (2022). Fundamentals of nursing and midwifery: a person-centred approach to care (Fourth Australian and New Zealand edition.). Wolters Kluwer. Module 2 will focus on:  the definition of person/woman centred care Next Module and on (Week 2) how this relates to nursing and midwifery practice. Time to get started!  Remember that if you have questions or concerns, you just need to ask for help by sending an email message to your tutor or to the subject email address.  Subject email: [email protected]  Check your university email twice a week for announcements
