Contamination of feedstock with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) was detected in animal food Master’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine products, mainly eggs and chickens. Although health inspectors reported the problem in January, measurements were taken only from May 1999 when the media revealed the case. A series of crises concerning human food and animal feed (BSE, dioxin etc.) has exposed weaknesses in the design and application of food legislation within the EU - There were important differences in relation to concepts, principles and procedures between the food laws Master’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine of the Member States → could impede the free movement of food, create unequal conditions of competition, and may thereby directly affect the functioning of the internal market.
