It is theatrical -- performed on a stage to an audience utilizing costumes, scenic design and lighting. It can tell a story or express a thought, concept or emotion. - **Modern dance** is a broad genre of western concert or theatrical dance which includes dance styles such as ballet, folk, ethnic, religious, and social dancing; and primarily arose out of Europe and the United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. - **ISADORA DUNCAN** was the mother of Modern Dance she is the first European performance took place in London 16 March 1900. - **Interpretive dance** is a dance style that includes lots of different styles of dance in one. Interpretive dance comes from a modern dance tradition that started in the early 1900s. - **Interpretive dance** aims to show human emotions, conditions, situations or fantasies by translating them into movement and dramatic expression.
