For remembering ratios: Type of oil Oil water Gum 1-fixed oil (castor, 4 2 1 cottonseed oil) 2-volatile oil 2 2 1 (turpentine oil) 3- mineral oil (liquid 3 2 1 paraffin) The formula for 1ry emulsion (Turpentine oil) O : W :G 2 :2 :1 2.5 : 2.5 : 1.25 Procedure (dry method): 1-Adjust the balance, and weigh accacia 2-In dry mortar, Grind gum acacia well to a very fine powder. 3-Add all oil at once, disperse it well. 4-Add 2.5ml water all at once and triturate it rapidly in one direction until you hear click sound (formation of 1ry emulsion). Procedure (dry method): 5-Dilute by adding water drop by drop and mix thoroughly after each addition. 6- Adjust the volume to 25 ml. 7-Write the label and send the preparation. Label: Name of preparation: turpentine oil emulsion Direction: to be applied at night External use Red label Date: 21/11/2024 shake before use Use: It is used as anti-rheumatic Emulsio Olei Ricini R/ Oleum Ricini 20 ml Aqua Distillata 120 ml fiat emulsio, mitte 30 ml sig: m. d. u. Castor oil emulsion R/ X 30/120 Castor oil 20 ml 5 ml Gum acacia Q.s. 1.25g Distilled water to 120 ml 30 ml Make emulsion, send 30 ml. Label: To be taken as directed. The formula of 1ry emulsion (Castor oil) O :W: G 4 : 2: 1 5 :2.5: 1.25 Procedure (wet method): 1. In dry mortar, Grind 1.25 g gum acacia 2. Add 2.5 ml water with trituration. 3. Add 5ml castor oil gradually with constant rapid and light trituration. 4. Triturate vigorously until the primary emulsion is formed. 5. Dilute gradually with water. 6. Complete the final volume.
