## Control of High-Rise Operations High-rise fires have unique challenges for fire departments due to the high risks to life and property, logistical difficulties, and various features of construction. The complexity of the fireground requires a strong command presence, someone who is well versed in the tactics needed and support staff to handle sections of the operation (fig. 18 - 39). All firefighters responding to a serious high-rise fire should also be trained in the unique problems and operations they are likely to face.
