Title, Scope and Purpose.** The Policy shall be known as the Policy on the Implementation of Students' Researches and Related Studies. It will be apply to all research subjects in the higher education level of the Christian Colleges of Southeast Asia. This policy will ensure a quality output of students in relation to their respective research subjects. The said policy will be the basis of conducting research among the students in the higher education department. **SECTION 2. Objectives.** This Policy aims to facilitate quality undergraduate research between students and mentors and to bring students into a community of scholars within their field. **SECTION 3. Type of Research** **Accountancy Research.** It is a capstone where students are required to use the knowledge obtained from previous accounting and finance courses. It introduces students to research of current issues in accounting and finance using various online database. **Business Plan.** It includes the study of marketing, operations, management, financial and environmental impact of the proposed plan. **Business Research.** It provides student with the perspective of the tools that are currently driving business research; exposes student to the emerging trends in business research, introduces student to the database that are widely used in research. **Feasibility Study.** It requires student to evaluate new businesses or new project proposals by looking at critical factors along the different areas of business. Students prepare market, operational/technical, organizational, financial and socio-economic feasibilities that make-up the whole feasibility study. **Language Education Research.** It develops skills in applying principles and approaches inn research to find answers to questions in language learning and teaching (EK1, ES2, EA2). **Marketing Research.** It deals with the study of the planning, collection and analysis of data relevant to marketing decision making and communicating the results of the analysis to management. It also showcases their research skills through the application of the mathematical content and processes they have learned. **Research in Social Studies.** It equips the student with research skills to solve relevant problems and issues in social science or in teaching and learning Social Studies. **Research in Teaching Science.** This is an action research in the content or pedagogy of science in any of the four areas: Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth Science. **Research in Values Education.** A critical review of research students and other works on the end, content, pedagogy and philosophy of values education. **Technology Research.** It provides with important concepts the methods of research covering the design, data collection, statistical application and development of research instrument. It requires the students to complete the research aligned to the areas of specialization. **Thesis.** It requires student to develop research work applying the Computer Science theories, concepts principles on IT Project management, System Development and computer application. **SECTION 4. Guidelines** a. **Conduct of classroom instructions on research.** The teacher should conduct classroom instructions on the based on the content in the syllabus of the respective subject prior to the actual conduct of the research activity of the students. b. **Discipline based research**. All students' researches should be aligned in the respective area of discipline per program. The research topic should be screened by the research teacher based on the relatedness to the subject. c. **Syllabus.** The conduct of students' research should be found be in the syllabus as part of the course requirements. d. **Work in progress**. The teacher must check the research output on a weekly basis until the final completion, for proper monitoring of the progress of the research endeavour of the students. The teacher will give his comments and suggestions for the improvement of the paper, while the students will modify their output. All submission of students must be graded accordingly. Refer to rubrics on.... e. **Institutional format.** All research output must follow the institutional format with proper citation and writing format. f. **Number of student per group.** The teacher will assign each student in a group. Each group is compose of five (5) members. g. **Research teacher.** The research teachers are allowed to handle a maximum of three (3) research subjects in a semester. h. **Research adviser.** All fulltime faculty members maybe assigned as adviser or mentor to a group of researchers. An adviser is allowed to have maximu i. m of five (5) group advisees in a semester. j. **Research panel.** The panel is composed of three (3) members. Full time and Part time faculty may sit as panel member. A panel member is allowed to have a maximum of ten (10) papers for review. k. **Plagiarism**. All research output is subject to plagiarism test with an allowable forty (40) percent original ratio. l. **Defense proceedings**. All defense proceedings will be conducted via online using google classroom. However, it may be done face to face if the situation permits. m. **Schedule of defense.** All research, thesis subjects will have a proposal and a final defense while feasibility study and business plan will only have final defense. The proposal defense is set two (2) weeks after the Prelim exam and the final defense is set two (2) weeks before the Final exam. n. **Validation tool.** All research questionnaires are subject to the institutional validation tool to assess the validity and reliability of the questions. o. **Ethical consideration.** Ethical consideration will be observed in conducting the study especially during survey and/or interview with respondent to make sure that due consideration will be given to the rights of the participants. p. **Grading system.** A grade will be given only on the final period after the final defense and submission of the final hardcopy and e-copy). a. **final grade --** 60% panel evaluation + 40% final submission (e-copy and hardcopy) **SECTION 5. Procedures.** To have a smooth conduct of the research process the following procedures must be followed accordingly. 1. The teacher discusses the lessons in the syllabus by topic. 2. The teacher assigns the students in group and requires them to present their topics (problem) for title defense. Upon the approval of the topic the student continues to work on the paper. This is a work in progress activity where the student will submit the output per topic discussed and the teacher will check it. 3. The teacher prepares the pool of prospective panel members and submits this list through the PH and CC for approval by AIDH and DOC. Once approved, the teacher will assign an adviser per group to help and assist the student researchers in the research endeavour. 4. The teacher arranges the schedule of proposal defense two (2) weeks after the prelim exam for all research subjects and oversees the preparation of the defense such as letter of request to DOC, students' payments, etc. 5. The student researcher pays the defense fee at the finance office. 6. The teacher conducts the proposal defense. 7. After the proposal defense, the student revises the paper based on the comments and suggestions of the panel members. 8. The adviser reviews the revised paper of the student researchers. 9. The student continues to work on the paper leading to the full blown output. 10. The adviser together with the teacher recommends the paper for the final defense. 11. The teacher arranges the schedule of final defense two (2) weeks before the final exam for all research subjects and oversees the preparation of the defense such as letter of request to DOC, students' payments, etc. 12. The student researcher pays the defense fee at the finance office. 13. The teacher conducts the final defense. 14. After the final defense, the student revises the paper based on the comments and suggestions of the panel members. 15. The adviser reviews the paper and the student routes the paper to the panel members for final review and approval. 16. Once approved, the student prints the final paper and submits the hardbound and the e-copy at the office of the AAH. 17. The teacher submits to the DOC the names of Panel members per group and the summary of honorarium per Panel member for payment approval. **SECTION 6.
