Rabanan is just like the torah (because of the לא סתור - Do not contradict those who know better יד של שלמה - If one's father says to not say Kaddish for the mother, you cannot listen to the father since the מנהג - When it comes to going to yeshiva, Talmud Torah overrides - If someone wants to go to yeshiva , parents say high school. He can go to yeshiva even though his parents do not want him to. If possible, he should try to have chashuv rebbeim to convince his parents to let him go to the yeshiva.
