# How to Spend a Snow Day There's nothing like a snow day. You go to sleep, and in the morning, you wake up thinking you'll go to school. You look out the window, however, to see a fluffy blanket of snow. You run to the TV and turn on the news, fingers crossed that school is cancelled. Finally, your school's name flashes on the screen. Now you have the whole day ahead of you, and there is no schoolwork. You'll do some sledding. What else can you do? Here are some possible activities to fill up your snow day: - ** Snow Construction:** Make a snow fort in many different ways. You can start digging and build up a big wall. You can also use a bucket or a pan as a mold. Fill these with snow and build just like you would with blocks. Do you want a greater challenge? Make a snow igloo. Stack your blocks so that they come together in a dome. - **Scavenger Hunt:** Gather some friends and make a list of things to find outside. It should only be things that you'd see when it snows such as snowmen, snowplows, a toboggan, or a sled. Come up with a cool prize and then hunt away! - **Shoveling:** Most adults don't like shoveling snow. They don't like being cold or wet and they worry about their backs. This is where you come in! Many adults are happy to pay kids to shovel their walkways, and sometimes even their driveways. It's a great way to make a little extra money! These are just a few possibilities for your next snow day. Stay warm out there!
