EVOLUTION OF MEDIA PRE HISTORICAL AGE In this age, non-written forms and creative self-expression is known as the media. Paintings, pictographs, painted sticks used by Native American tribes, and the quibi cards used by the Incas in South America. Sumerians, refers to the ancient civilization of Sumer. Developed writing to about 8,000 BCE.They are also the one who produced pictographs, or simple drawings of objects. INDUSTRIAL AGE The Industrial Age era, started in the late 18th century and continued into early 20th century.The invention of printing press it helped establish faster and efficient publishing of newspapers,books, and other printed materials. This allowed them to reach a bigger audience and spread information more effectively. Other inventions, such as telegraph, photograph, and radio made it possible to communicate despite the distance. Morse code had been replaced with voice when Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. ELECTRONIC AGE Electronic age was the start of the most important feature of 20th century media. Radio telephoning was introduced where it started as two persons communicate with each other and it eventually led to radio broadcasting, where one person talks to a bigger audience. The media soon developed and Televisions with visual and sound came into being. Along with the televisions, there was also commercial television. Further advancements included the color television system in 1946, cable television in 1948, satelite television in the 1970s. In the past INFORMATION AGE few years, the Internet Protocol Television was invented. The Information Age, which began in the late twentieth century and continues into the twenty- first century, has seen an amazing variety of technological advances in media. Personal Computers was produced in the early 1970s, it was made for people to access different networks, and also for storing and processing information. The internet was also invented in this era, allowing access to different websites and even bigger platforms. It was produced in the early 1990s. Along with the internet is the World Wide Web that Tim Berners-Lee invented, a network of interrelated hypertext pages accessible via the Internet that made it easier to navigate to get online information.
