Assignment individual BHR1101 Assignment Title: Exploring the Role of Organizing and Controlling in Effective Management Objective: Students will understand the importance of organizing and controlling within the management process by applying these two functions to a business scenario. The assignment will focus on how managers create efficient structures and maintain control over operations to ensure business success. Instructions: 1. Business Scenario Selection: o Each individual will choose a fictional or real small to medium-sized company (e.g., a retail store, a restaurant, or a startup tech firm). o Provide a brief overview of the company, including its size, product/service, and market. 2. Assignment Tasks: o Organizing:  Define how the company should structure its workforce and resources.  Create an organizational chart that outlines the hierarchy, key departments (e.g., sales, marketing, HR), and roles.  Discuss the rationale behind the structure (e.g., why a certain department reports to a particular manager, how the division of labor is designed for efficiency).  Explain how the structure will facilitate communication, decision- making, and workflow within the company. o Controlling:  Identify key performance metrics that the company would need to monitor in order to achieve its objectives (e.g., sales growth, customer satisfaction, production quality).  Propose a simple control system that outlines how the company will track these metrics, including feedback loops (e.g., weekly reports, performance appraisals, quality control systems). 3. Challenges and Solutions: o Discuss potential challenges the company might face in organizing and controlling its operations (e.g., communication breakdowns, resistance to change, resource constraints). o Propose solutions to these challenges, drawing on principles of effective organizing and controlling. 4.
