This food tastes good. *Adverb - it describes a verb, an adjective, and another adverb Ex. She is singing a song loudly. Different Kinds of Adverb 1. Adverbs of Manner - describe the manner of an action or the way of the occurrence of an action - “How?” , “In what manner?” Ex. The students are listening to their teacher attentively. 2. Adverbs of Place - express the place of the occurrence of an action - “Where?” Ex. Kids are playing outside. I wanted to go upstairs. 3. Adverbs of Time - states the occurrence of the action - “When?” Ex. He will go to the mall tomorrow. He will come soon. Just be patient. 4. Adverbs of Frequency - tell about how often (or how many times) an action occurs - “How often?” Ex. He usually sleeps in the class. The prize is awarded annually. 5. Adverbs of Degree - tell us about the intensity of something or of an action - usually placed before the adjective, adverb, or verb that they modify Ex. She is running very fast. The water was extremely cold. 6. Adverbs of Affirmation and Negation - tell us whether a statement is a true or false - Affirmation (positive – true) - Negation (negative – false) Ex.
