## Officer's Handbook of Tactics ### Time Limits - 3 or 4 minutes - Depend on actual observations of conditions - May need to evacuate troops sooner if the situation is severe - May be able to stay if the situation is clear ### Runoff - If there is only a trickle of water coming out the front door something is wrong - The water is collecting somewhere - Find out where before it collapses the floors ### Cracks or Bulges in Walls - Obvious signs of weakness - Can be present long before they appear - Expanding or lengthening cracks are a definite indication of movement and should prompt evacuation - Use tape to mark the ends of a crack and check for expansion during the operation
