- The primary difference between number data and text data is that calculations cannot be performed on text data.
- Examples of text data include words, sentences, dates, times, addresses, and labels for columns or rows.
- Excel may categorize unrecognized figures as text data by default, so formatting is important to ensure correct data type.
- Text data can be used to label columns or rows to help organize data.
