Search Team (ST)
- Consists of law enforcement personnel and remains on the Main frequency
- Responsible for a room-by-room search of the structure to identify occupants and potential threats
- Establishes a "secure corridor" with personnel at junctures for safety
- Assigns personnel to provide overwatch for live occupants inside the structure
Tactical Triage Task Force (TTTF)
- Deploys prior to total neutralization of the active assailant and clearing of the structure
- Consists of:
- Security Contingent: at least 2 law enforcement officers
- Medical Contingent: at least 1 paramedic and 4 firefighters
- TTTF Team Leader (TFTL) directs movements and monitors communications with the Contact Team
- Assistant Task Force Team Leader (ATFTL) monitors the Interior frequency
- Paramedic makes medical decisions and determines need for immediate transport
- Firefighters assist with transport of injured persons
Exterior Operations
- Command Post (CP) makes assignments for exterior operations
- Staging Area: for incoming personnel, with a Staging Area Manager (SAM) responsible for checking in personnel
