CRS Sanction for Works Affecting Passenger Running Lines
- The safety of the traveling public is governed by the Rules laid down in The Railways Act, 1989, The Indian Railways (Open Lines) General Rules, 1976, The Railways (Opening for Public Carriage of Passengers) Rules, 2000, and Indian Railways Schedule of Dimensions.
- The sanction of the Commissioner of Railway Safety is required for the execution of any work on the open line, which will affect the running of trains carrying passengers and for any temporary arrangement necessary for carrying it out, except in cases of emergency.
Works Requiring Sanction of Commissioner of Railway Safety
- The sanction of the Commissioner of Railway Safety is required for works on the open line, which will affect the running of trains carrying passengers and for any temporary arrangement necessary for carrying it out, except in cases of emergency.
- A certificate shall be dispatched by the quickest means to the Officers concerned, followed by confirmatory copies by letter.
