OSHA Inspections and Process

Types of Standards
- Horizontal standards apply to all industries and employers. Examples include fire prevention and respiratory regulation.

- Specification standards are specific requirements for dimensions, materials, type (e.g., guardrails).
Types of Persons

- Designated person is assigned to specific duties or locations by the employer.
- Qualified person has a recognised degree, certificate, or demonstrated experience in solving problems within a particular subject matter or project.
Record Keeping
- Employers must record all recordable injuries and illnesses within seven days of occurrence.
- OSHA 300 form is the Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses
- OSHA 300-A form summarizes work-related injuries and illnesses.
- OSHA 301 form is the Injury and Illness Incident Report.
- Records are maintained for 5 years.
Workers' Compensation
