LA 2022.4.1 System Requirements
- Release date: December 14, 2022
- SolarWinds Platform version 2022.4.1 required
- Current deployment must be version 2020.2 or later for upgrade
- LA port requirements, LA agent requirements, cloud instance requirements for the LA database in Azure/AWS are included.
- Detailed operating system requirements such as Windows Server 2022, 2019, 2016, and Microsoft Windows 11 and 10 are included
- Supported languages: English (UK or US), German, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese
- Browser requirements: Firefox, Chrome, and Edge (version 79 or higher)
- Physical server or virtual machine requirements: Quad core processor or better, 16 GB RAM, 1x 1 GB dedicated NIC. Windows Server 2016 or 2019 (Standard or Datacenter Edition)
- SQL server requirements: Azure SQL and Microsoft SQL Server 2016 SP1 or later
- Disk requirements: 100-130 GB/day (@1000 EPS) on local NTFS disk; estimates required storage size based on EPS (events per second) expectations and desired retention period. (Example: 1TB for a 7-day retention period)
LA Port Requirements
- Ports 4369, 25672, and 5672 are opened by default for RabbitMQ messaging. Firewall blocking may be required
- Ports greater than 1024 (TCP, bidirectional) are used by the Job Engine v2 process for communicating with Windows nodes
- Various ports are used for different services (e.g., SSH, SMTP, UDP, TCP, HTTPS, etc.)
- Specific ports and protocols are defined for communication (e.g., Device-based, n/a, TLS/SSL)
LA Agent Requirements
- Agent software is free, licensing based on monitored elements.
- Windows agents function as services.
- 64-bit OS compatibility required for agents (Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, Windows 7, 7 SP1, 8, 8.1, and 10).
- Supported Linux distributions include CentOS 6.x-8.x, Oracle Linux 6.x-8.x, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x-8.x, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15.x, and Ubuntu 14.x-20.x
- Additional software packages like Microsoft Visual C++ 2013/Redistributable Package, and .NET Framework may be required.
- 100 MB of hard disk space minimum is required
Cloud Instance Requirements
- Cloud instance specifications for the LA database match the server requirements.
- Azure Storage Disk volumes are not for dedicated hardware, but Azure Reserved Instances of storage disk volumes are suitable for SQL servers
- Cloud instance requirements for AWS are similar
Other Requirements
- Do not install SolarWinds Platform products on the same server as SolarWinds Access Rights Manager (ARM)
- CPU: Quad core processor or better, 4 or 8 cores recommended
- Hard drive space: 15GB minimum, 40GB recommended. Two 146 GB 15K (RAID 1/Mirrored Settings) drives recommended (dedicated drive for operating system/SolarWinds). Upgrading requires 2GB additional free space
- Memory: 8GB minimum, 16GB recommended.
Log Analyzer Database Requirements
- Medium deployment recommended for small deployments with AWS RDS
- Small, Medium, Large, and XL options available
- Log Analyzer Databases will run on server instances specified in the document
