    Policy

    • Director's Discretion: In the best interest of the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department (MDCR), the Director can approve or reject gifts valued under $1,000.
    • Approval for Gifts Over $1,000: Gifts valued over $1,000 must be approved by the Mayor or designated official.
    • Florida Statute 112.313: Employee conduct standards require that employees not accept gifts directly or indirectly that are related to their departmental employment, except as permitted

    Procedures

    • Employee Restrictions/Responsibilities: Department employees cannot use position, identification, or badge for personal/financial gain or privileges not normally available, except during official duty.

    Offers of Gifts Valued at Less than $1,000
