    Uniformed Personnel (Sworn) - Facial Hair

    • Mustaches must be neatly trimmed and not extend into the area where the SCBA facepiece touches the face.
    • Handlebar mustaches are allowed if they meet the same requirement as regular mustaches.
    • Lip beards must be centered on the bottom edge of the lip, no more than ½” in width and will not extend more than ½” downward. They also cannot extend into the area where the SCBA facepiece touches the face.
    • Sideburns must not extend below the lowest part of the ear and end with a trimmed clean-shaven line. They also cannot extend into the area where the SCBA facepiece touches the face.
    • Beards or goatees are not allowed unless authorized in writing by the Fire Chief with a physician's medical statement for documented medical conditions.
