    Study Notes

    Environmental Monitoring

    • The laboratory manager is responsible for maintaining the environmental condition of the CMTS calibration laboratory.
    • The applicable environmental condition for on-site calibration must be: • 25 ± 10 °C (15°C to 35°C) for Temperature • 55 ± 25 % (30 % to 80%) for Relative Humidity
    • CMTS Lab personnel must verify the suitability of the environment before proceeding with calibration.
    • If the temperature or relative humidity is out of the limit, necessary corrective action must be initiated, and calibration activities will be suspended.

    Type of Calibration Service

    • Accredited Calibration: • Done in a manner traceable to national and international standards • In accordance with PNS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 • Report must be signed by the approved signatory, and the PAB logo is affixed in the calibration certificate
    • Traceable Calibration: • Instrument tested using manufacturer or applicable procedures • Processes ensure testing with traceability to national and international standards, but do not necessarily fulfill all the requirements of PNS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 • PAB logo is not affixed in the calibration certificate

    Unit Calibrated with Limited Calibration

    • Limited Calibration is carried out due to: • Customer's request • Lack of facility or resources in the calibration laboratory
    • "Not tested specifications or ranges" are clearly mentioned in the calibration report
    • Agreement with the customer for the Limited Calibration status is indicated in the Calibration Service Request, CMTS-FM-02

    Unit Calibrated with Conditional Calibration

    • Conditional Calibration is carried out when: • One or two test/s in the result of calibration has an OOT or non-compliance with specification • Adjustment is not possible
    • Agreement with the customer for the Conditional Calibration status is indicated through: • DUT Service Report, CMTS-FM-57 • Onsite DUT Service Report, CMTS-FM-58 for Onsite Calibration
    • Specify in the remarks section in the calibration certificate, the Out of Tolerance function of the DUT
    • If 3 or more tests result of calibration has an OOT or non-compliance and adjustment is not possible, the DUT is to be remarked as defective
