Asthma Control Test™
- Asthma UK is a charity dedicated to the health and well-being of 5.2 million people with asthma in the UK.
- The Asthma Control Test™ gives a snapshot of how well asthma has been controlled over the past four weeks.
- A score out of 25 is generated, with higher scores indicating better control.
- Results can be shared with a doctor or asthma nurse for further discussion.
How to Take the Test
- Step 1: Carefully read each question.
- Step 2: Score each question based on the frequency of symptoms during the past 4 weeks.
- Step 3: Add up the scores for all five questions to get the total score.

Understanding Your Score
- 25 - Well Done: Asthma is under control. Seek medical advice if any problems arise.
- 20-24 - On Target: Asthma is reasonably well controlled. Doctor/Nurse consultation is recommended if symptoms persist.
- Less than 20 - Off Target: Asthma may not have been fully controlled. Asthama Action Plan is recommended with consultation from your doctor/nurse to help improve control.
