Uses of Concept Paper It serves the foundation of a full project proposal. It helps determine the feasibility of a project before it is implemented. It is used to pique the interest of a potential funding agencies. It is used to gather important feedback regarding the ideas before preparing the full proposal. ACTIVITY 2 Let’s Elucidate It! 1. Choose among the words that were given in the previous activity (Guessing Game). 2. Make a mind map of your concept. 3. Decide on how you will elucidate on the chosen concept using the following definition techniques: 34 GROUP Definition Techniques 1 Formal and Negation 2 Origin and Metaphor 3 Function and Analysis 4 Analogy and Illustration 5 Contrast and Synonym ANALYSIS 2 1. To which fields do the concepts that were explained and clarified belong? 2. What are the various ways by which a writer can elucidate on a concept? 36 Learning Competencies (Writing a Concept Paper) The learner… 1. defines what a concept paper is 2. determines the ways a writer can elucidate on a concept by definition, explication and clarification 3. identifies situations in which a concept paper may be effectively used to improve our society 4. comprehends various kinds of concept papers 5. explains and clarifies concepts in fields such as: Art, Business, Law, Philosophy, Politics , Religion, Science, Sports, TechVoc, Home Economics , Agri. Fishery, I.A , ICT, etc. 6.presents a novel concept or project with accompanying visuals/ graphic aids ACTIVITY 3 Let’s Dissect It! 1.Each group will be given a text representing a kind concept paper. 2.Provide meta cards, let them identify the following: topic; problem; and solution. 3.Allot 20 minutes for each group to read the assigned text and answer using the meta cards given. 4.Reconvene the groups for the presentation of their task. 38 ACTIVITY SHEET Aspect Answers Topic Problem Solution 39 ANALYSIS 3 1. What is the purpose of the concept paper? 2. How can it help improve the society? 3.
