Uses of metals Unit 2: Different metals have different uses We use lots of different metals to make objects that we use in our daily lives. We choose metals with the right properties with which to make these objects. 1. A bracelet is made from gold/silver which is a strong, shiny metal that does not rust. 2. A frying pan is made from stainless steel, which does not rust and it conducts heat well in high temperatures. 3. This wire is made of copper, which can be pulled into thin wires. It is strong, is a good conductor and does not rust. 4. A bridge is made of iron, which is hard and strong. Can rust over a period of time. Should be plaited (paint or cover with another metal that does not rust → zinc). 4. This furniture is made from aluminium, which is strong and light and does not rust.
